2008 Youth Day Plans

District Apostle Freund will conduct the 2008 USA Youth Day service on July 20th via satellite transmission to five regional locations across the country. We will continue the themes to Live the Spirit and Ignite Your World as we invite the Canadian young people to join us at Youth Day. We will use the youth website to signup for Youth Day. The cost will be $120 per youth, plus travel to the Youth Day site. For districts that have to travel over 150 miles one way to attend Youth Day, there will be some extra funds available to help offset the cost of travel. These funds will not pay the entire cost of travel, but should help ease the burden of long distance travel. Additional details will be sent to you in the months ahead. Read more

2008 USA Youth Invitation to Australia

Dear USA District Youth Leaders, Our District Apostle Freund has accepted an invitation from the District Apostle Andersen of Australia for fifty USA young people to attend the 2008 Australian Youth Day in Sydney. This is a wonderful opportunity for a number of our young people to have a NAC cultural experience in another country.

2009 USA Youth Invitation to European Youth Day

Our church will host a European Youth Day (EYD09) in Düsseldorf, Germany in 2009. Approximately 40,000 young people are expected to attend. Fifty USA young people have been invited to experience this unique event. In addition, the USA group will tour part of Germany and Great Britain while in Europe. Young people who are interested can sign-up on the youth website between May 26th and June 22nd. Selected youth must be 18 years of age by the time they leave the USA. Bishops will be consulted to make final selections in each district. Attendance and participation in youth events will be considered in this selection process. Cost: Estimated at $2000, which must be fully funded by the participant. This cost estimate includes one night stay in a New York Hotel, European Youth Day admission, flights from NYC to Germany to London and back to NYC, hotels/hostels in Europe, some food, and some miscellaneous traveling expenses.
